Hans van Bentem

Hans van Bentem graduated in 1988, specializing in the field of monumental design at the Royal College of Art (KABK) in The Hague, Netherlands. At the beginning of his artistic career he was interested mainly in painting, but during his studies he gradually became bewitched by art crafts from around the world and different materials they use such as ceramic, glass, metal and wood. The ability to shape in 3D dimension better served his interests to create art for the public space.

His works are largely inspired by the punk movement and its ideological platform that proclaims turning one´s back to the conformist society attitude and encourages the development of one´s own desired world. Seeing the world this way he turns his artistic dreams into visual realism.
